The Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program – or VPK – is a free prekindergarten program for 4 and 5-year-olds who reside in Florida.
Participating children must be 4 years of age on or before September 1. Parents can enroll their child in the state’s free, voluntary prekindergarten (VPK) education program that year or wait until the following year when their child is 5.

Small class sizes are available for kindergarten through third grade at New Horizons Private School. Smaller class sizes provide our students more one-on-one time with the teacher, which is a benefit. The Miami-Dade Public School Calendar is implemented, and we accept Step Up Scholarships. Every day, we serve lunch to our students and offer after-school care until 5:00 PM.
New Horizons Preschool/Private School offers Summer Camp to students from preschool up to 12 years of age.
Our camp includes daily Breakfast, Lunch and Snack. Also, we offer academic activities as well as fun summer activities such as game days, water days, etc.
Lastly, we offer fieldtrips to different venues around the city.
The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, provides a set of resources to support active learning through a variety of learning experiences. It includes six volumes that describe the curriculum foundation, interest areas in the classroom, objectives for development and learning, and domain-specific teaching practices. The curriculum also provides teaching guides on six study topics with detailed daily plans.

In order for us to achieve our expectations we will need a lot of family involvement. It can be a very emotional time for children and their families as well, often filled with moments of anxiety, excitement, frustration, and pride.
